Who here’s a bird lover?
It’s summer break, and our family just got back from our 3rd annual trip to Hilton Head, and whoa, lemme tell ya, there are so many beautiful birds there! I even got to see juvenile Little Blue Herons and Tricolored Herons! I've never seen juveniles before!! The only other place I have seen more birds in the wild is Huntington State Beach Park a couple years ago. If you live in the area, DEFINITELY worth the visit. It got me thinking...I should really share some of my bird paintings and prints! From Green Herons (Did you even know that was a thing?!) to Roseate Spoonbills to Tricolored Herons, there's so much to enjoy! I'm always learning too. I remember sitting on the porch one night and telling my husband, Evan, that wading birds and alligators have a symbiotic relationship. Wading birds will lay their eggs in trees above alligator land. While the alligators protect the eggs from would-be predators, they also get first pick of any eggs or birds that fall out of the nest! Voila!--your fun fact for the day. If you're a bird lover like me, I highly encourage you to check out my original bird paintings and bird prints that can be ordered in multiple sizes! Hope you're having a great summer, and enjoy the birds!
P.S. This is my favorite bird app about there. . . Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I have learned so many bird songs from this app!
